Freedom is Waiting
Broken and battered
Shattered and torn
Sin leaves us desperate,
Helpless, and worn
Locked in a prison
Of shame and regret
Sin holds us captive in darkness
and yet…
We are not without hope
All is not lost
The light of the world
Has paid the cost
It is He alone
Who holds the key
His love and salvation
Can set us all free
If
We turn from our flesh
and sinful desires
Believe and repent
This is what He requires
In exchange for our freedom
He’s given His life
His grace for our pain
and His Peace for our strife
Salvation and healing
Are gifts free for the taking
But be prepared to commit
to the decision you are making
His life for yours is eternally focused
Your earthly life will never be the same
You might leave behind
your dreams of power and fame
Riches and comforts
might be a thing of the past
As true treasure awaits…
The treasure that lasts
He’s calling
Can you hear?
He’s coming
Love is near
Freedom is waiting
What do you have to lose?
All you have to do is choose
Jesus.
Freedom is for you
No matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, freedom is for you.
Jesus paid the price to redeem you from the darkness.
He paid the price to cover your shame.
Nothing is too dark that His light cannot redeem.
There is abundant life, redemption, freedom, and joy waiting when you choose to let Christ set you free.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” | Romans 3:23
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” | Romans 10:9-10
“He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.” | Psalm 40:2
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” | John 8:36

This is a great poem about freedom. It’s well written and illustrates the point beautifully. Are you musical at all? Have you thought about setting this to music? Then you’d have a Christian ministry song.
Thank you, Robert!
I sing and have dabbled with piano, so a bit musical in that way, though I have never written music… you’ve given me something to consider. Thank you 😊
This beautifully tells the love story of Savior and sinner! I love that you tell the story of the redeemed being willing to abandon all preconceived notion of what is needed for a satisfying life. Isn’t it amazing how our perspective changes when we’re focused on the eternal?
It is amazing… He is so good!
Thanks for your kind comment, Rachel!
